This is the fee for the Navigating High Quality Instructional Materials in Social Studies Forum.
ABOUT
AIR experts have been working with EdReports to develop a rubric and evidence guide to identify high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) for K-12 social studies. Rubrics like ours are often used by states and districts to evaluate materials from publishers. Currently, the rubric and evidence guides are being used to support social studies curriculum development in the U.S. Virgin Islands, with future collaborations coming shortly.
To support publishers in using the rubric and evidence guide to review and inform the development of their own materials, we would like to invite your organization to participate in our upcoming learning series, Navigating HQIM in Social Studies.
OBJECTIVES
This learning series will build on publisher’s understanding of the research behind and expectations for HQIM in social studies. The learning objectives for the series are:
- Review the current landscape of HQIM in social studies
- Unpack research behind the indicators for HQIM
- Engage with each research-based indicator for HQIM
- Use the HQIM rubric and evidence guide to review materials
